It's Sunday, and little work is expected on such days. So, we are off to see some of the sights around Santa Cruz. The day ends with a planning meeting in preparation of a Monday project launch.
First stop -- church. Adam takes a crack at being a televangelist.
We get a call from the airport and leave church in the middle of the service -- our bags have arrived from La Paz and need to be picked up! On the way back, Mella nests in our pile of bags. Is it me, or does she look a little "under the weather"???
We stop at a nice little restaurant to have barbacoa. Maybe this is where most of us picked up a good dose of "rumbly stomach", our constant companion for the next two weeks....
A little shopping is always in order. Our shopping list: 8 shovels and 2 wheelbarrows.
And then we are off to spend the day as the locals do -- at the river. It's also a good place to park your car, ride your ATV, let your cows roam, and let your feet explore the unknown wonders that live in the muck.
We check out the city center. The cathedral in Santa Cruz is a defining landmark.
We return to "The Ranch" to have a discussion with the leaders from the barrio. We re-assess needs, re-design the system, and plan for project launch tomorrow morning. What we have planned for many months is about to unfold.
