Sunday -- a day of no work. We head west on a bus. Three and a half hours later we arrive at Samaipata.
Brandon checking out the changing scenery. We aren't in the barrio anymore.
The terrain gets more rugged as we head west.
Before we do a little hiking we stop in the town of Samaipata for lunch. Here, the central square is a nice mix of flowers and sculptures. We all agree this would be a nice town to serve in the Peace Corps (or for retirement).
Chilling out after lunch at La Chakana.
We make the climb along the tortuous road to the Samaipata park.

The team poses.

Newlyweds and our Santa Cruz heroes, Mauricio and Yaneth.
Some of the Incan ruins at Samaipata.
The team in a reflective moment. Edge of the Amazon in the far distance.
The team takes a few more minutes to meditate at this scenic overlook. So much has happened on this journey, it's good to sit and be appreciative.
Sun sets as we leave the Samaipata area and meander on the twisty road to Santa Cruz. A well-earned and enjoyed day of relaxation. This day helped paint a broader picture of Bolivia.
