Back in the States, our friends and family gather to celebrate. Our team is thankful to be working with Bolivians on a project that matters.
More detail work, this day involving much cutting. Here Heather, Laura, and Aunge cut a pipe down to size for the drain field.
Walls are going up at the toilet house. Carlos, Pedro and Brandon are making good progress now. Are those dark clouds in the distance?
Ken, Walter, and Pepe begin working on the rebar needed for the septic tank lid.
The dark clouds join the party, as does the torrential rain. Team Drain Field is undaunted and creates an impromptu shelter so Heather and Aunge can glue the last few pipes in the network together before lunch.
The sky wept during mid-day, perhaps in sadness of Mella's and Adam's departure to the States this morning. Mella had come down with pneumonia and it was most important to get her home.
Ken tries to dewater his boots to the "soaking wet" level.
The rains subsided to a light rain for the afternoon, so some of us ventured back to the site to do a few small jobs. The Bolivians were smarter and stayed home.
After drying off (a day where a shower was definitely not needed), the team (now 9) was happy to sit down for our Thanksgiving dinner, soup.
After dinner, "Dora", "Daveed", and "Rio" play with Erman and Pepe, two boys who live at the complex with their father (the manager of the complex).
Brando poses with Heather and Aunge; it's their last day with us before they continue their journey through South America. Their addition to our team was much welcomed one. We are all sad to see them depart.
